GALLOPING THE GLOBE - Grades K-3rd

TEACHERS: Jacquie Palazzolo

2024-2025 will be a Year 1 Rotation

This class is an adventure that will take students grades K-3 to different countries around the world.  While “visiting” the countries, we will explore the culture, the geography, famous people, music, animals, games, food and more!  Each week we will look at the map and learn to locate the countries, capital cities, oceans, continents, and learn directions.  A story relating to the country we are visiting will enhance the experience while providing examples of the history and culture.  Then we wrap up each day with an activity, language lesson, food sample, game native to the country, or color the flag.

Galloping the Globe will use different categories of learning activities: Basic Geography, People/History, Literature, Science, Activities, Cultures, and Bible.  We spend 2-3 weeks visiting each country making this program a two year course and your students can jump in either year as it does not build upon the prior year.

Year one we visit: France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Antarctica, Arctic, Canada, and Spain.

Year two we visit:  Egypt, Kenya, Great Britain, Brazil, Russia, China, and Israel.

Volume II-- The Early Church and the Middle Ages

The Mystery of History Volume II (AD 30 - 1456) picks up where the story of Volume I leaves off  - at the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  In the first lesson I address Acts 1:8 with the promise of the Father to send the Holy Spirit.  It is called the Day of Pentecost.  From there, the history of the Early Church really begins.  It is not an easy history to digest.  It was amid trials, persecution, and martyrdom that the magnificent story of Jesus Christ spread
